Furniture Outlets USA, founded in 1976 by William A. Hinks, has grown from a single location in Sioux Falls, SD to a ranking of 59 among America's top 100 furniture retailers. At the present time it owns and operates twenty-three furniture stores, a carpet store and two Distribution Centers in four states. In Sioux Falls, the company has South Dakota Furniture Mart, Unclaimed Freight Furniture, Unclaimed Freight Clearance Center, Furniture Outlets USA Factory Clearance and Carpet One. The company has four Furniture Outlet USA stores in Minnesota, one in Iowa and one in Fargo, North Dakota. Sioux Falls has remained the company's headquarters with its corporate office and Distribution Center housed in a one hundred and eighty nine thousand square foot facility, which is under further expansion in 2006.
