RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minnesota State University, Mankato seeks an energetic and innovative leader for the position of Dean of the College of Business. The Dean will provide vision and leadership for the College; serve as the chief administrator and executive officer for the college and report directly to the Provost; oversee academic program reviews and maintain external accreditation in AACSB International; provide academic and administrative planning and budgeting; lead within collective bargaining agreements; implement college and university policies; recruit, develop and evaluate faculty and staff; maintain positive student relations; and procure grants; maintain and develop external connections, collaborations and partnerships; provide oversight for procurement and maintenance of college technology and facilities; promote, develop and encourage diversity initiatives; and mentor department chairpersons, center directors and faculty. |

| Education, training, experience: |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the college.
Experience with rigorous accreditation and accountability models.
Commitment to innovation, technology, research and integrity.
Understanding of the mission and the potential of a comprehensive institution in a dynamic and volatile market.
Record of leadership experience and achievement at the Department Chair level or higher within a College of Business.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
Record of undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, research and service commensurate with rank of professor within a discipline appropriate to the college.
Strong support of faculty and student research opportunities.
Commitment to fund raising and securing external funding through grants and contracts.
Experience in collective governance organizational models.
Experience building public and/or private partnerships.
Demonstrated ability to acquire/align resources to achieve strategic goals.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with external constituents.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with and lead diverse groups.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The College of Business has 49 faculty members and approximately 2,300 undergraduate students majoring in four departments: Accounting and Business Law; Finance; Management; and Marketing and International Business, as well as 100 students in an MBA program. The College has a Director of Development and a Student Relations Coordinator. The College has a thriving wireless laptop program for its students. It has international exchange programs in Rouen, France and Helsinki, Finland.
