NORTHEAST METRO INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT 916 VACANCY NOTICE DATE: October 29, 2009 POSITION TITLE: Education Assistant ASSIGNMENT: Captitol View Center (ALP Program) FTE/HOURS: 6.5 hrs/day APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until position filled SALARY RANGE: Per contract EXPECTED STARTING DATE: ASAP Description: This position provides student supervision, assists the teacher in carrying out lesson plans, reinforces positive behaviors, records and compiles data, and performs a variety of duties related to the education process. Minimum Qualifications: Up to one year of post secondary education or one year of related experience. Experience in education and/or special needs populations, preferred. Must be able to meet pre-placement physical requirements. Ability to lift 20-50 lbs and up to 75 lbs at times. Ability to physical contain and withstand unpredictable pushing or pulling of students up to adult size occasionally. Ability to move quickly to avoid unpredictable physical interactions.
